Being a pet-friendly resort, Forest Hills at Tala followed its tradition and organized an event especially for dogs. In collaboration with The Bark Club, the resort pulled off the Pawsome Weekend Getaway on 08th and 09th of December. The third edition of the event got a bit more lively as soon as the playful pooches started flooding in. Forest Hills welcomed the four-legged cuties with its open arms and breeds like German Shepherd, Labrador, Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, Dachshund, Siberian Husky, Dobermann and more, embarked the cheerful occasion.
With no mandate check-in timings, the eco-resort started receiving the pooches with their parents at 10 am. Greeted with the regional welcome drink, guests were headed to their respective tents, allocated at the campsite. After a brief refreshment, a scrumptious buffet lunch was organized at the poolside restaurant. While homo sapiens were impressed by the food, a paw-licking meal was prepared for the little ones by super chefs.
After the delightful feast, it was the time for the highly anticipated activities. The stage was set, doggies were ready, and their parents pulled up their socks for the first activity of the evening, i.e the Woofball. Woofball was nothing but football, where the unconventional team of humans and dogs played for the common goal.
Post woofball, guests participated in the Lemon Race, holding the leashes of their respective dogs. While the biggies were all calm, little ones like Chihuahua and Dachshund showed the best character. As soon as the Lemon Race concluded, the music engulfed the entire campsite, and yes, it was the time for Musical Chair. Unlike the usual game, musical chair with doggos came with a twist. With every pause, the chair was supposed to be occupied with a total of 6 legs, and the activity just got pumped up with the hustle and bustle of the mischievous pooches.
All activities ended on a jolly note, and the exertion put on filed, lead to another meal. While hoomans were served with casual snacks, primary guests were provided with delectable boiled chicken and rice pudding. As the sun started setting down, the site was embraced by the warmth of the blazing bonfire. In the meanwhile, the exquisite evening got another surprise. A sizzling barbeque was arranged, and professional kebab makers came from Mumbai to make the finger-licking tikkas. Kebabs turned out to be the major highlight of the evening, and for everyone’s revelation, it was served for all night long.
The evening was getting colder, and to set the mood right, a live music performance was arranged. It was a duo by the name of Galat Friends, and unlike their name, they made the night memorable in all the right ways. Their soothing hymn created a melancholy and the night filled with the symphony.
With ceaseless music, and the vibrant bonfire, the delightful dinner iced the cake. Guests and the paw buddies were served with their last meal, and that’s how the night came to a mollifying end.
The morning of 09th started with a rejuvenating nature trail where patrons and bow-wows were taken to the 1st century B.C. Buddhist Kuda caves. Post jungle trail, a healthy breakfast was served at the campsite, and after a brief refreshment, people started checking out, and the beautiful event concluded.
