The Teepee Culture teaches the ways of the wilderness and how to co-exist and survive. They curate outdoor community experiences for the adventurous and the curious, to come together to 'explore' & 'exchange' while learning how to symbiotically live with and survive in the fascinating wilderness. Sounds similar to our philosophy? Indeed.
The Teepee Culture hosted their Wilderness Bootcamp on our property that included a Survival Basics Bootcamp, Stargazing and Astrophotography. Enthusiastic wildlife lovers came from surrounding cities to attend the Bootcamp, while guests that were currently enjoying the Forest Hills experience also willingly joined the adventure. The Cafe saw an Astronaut engage and invite everyone to the stargazing event and got great response from families, children and couples alike.
This overnight 'Stargazing' experience was designed keeping the Indian enthusiast in mind. With focus on areas of Space Science, Rocketry and Astronomy this short expedition sure brought out the next 'Explorer' within you. The altitude and location of Forest Hills, Tala added an element of authenticity to the event with clear skies all night for the explorers to Astro-Navigate, along with learning other skills like Solar cooking, Sun scoping, making a sundial, etc.
The Sunset Point at Forest Hills and the Campsite were the highlights for the Survival Wilderness Boot Camp that was hosted. The 300 acre forest land at Forest Hills gave participants a first-hand experience on the basics of survival, adventure and wilderness. Through this experience participants learnt skills like backpacking, hiking, survival, wildlife watching and some important hacks to exist out there.
The adventures spanned over two days, taught them extreme survival techniques and how to put these skills into practice whilst hiking across the jungles, climbing rock faces and descending into deep mountain shafts. The Kund located near Forest Hills provided for a special experience in rappelling that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Another one-of-a kind event under the Teepee Culture that was hosted was the Astrophotography and Light-Painting Bootcamp. Astrophotography is a specialised type of photography for recording photos of astronomical objects, celestial events, and areas of the night sky. Besides being able to record the details of extended objects such as the Moon, Sun, and planets, astrophotography has the ability to image objects invisible to the human eye such as dim stars, nebulae, and galaxies. Participants experienced the mystical starry night sky’s drama, general information about constellations, nebula, pole star and the techniques on how to take spectacular star-trail images. Located amidst nature, Forest Hills made for a beautiful foreground for all light painting and astrophotography images.
The Teepee Culture bought its educative experiences to collaborate with Forest Hills that proved to be a spectacular experience for the organisers, hosts and guests alike.
